FAQ

Common questions about MYTHASE.

Is MYTHASE a VPN?

Not in the usual sense. A VPN routes all traffic through one provider's fixed server. The private network routes it over multi-hop paths that rotate, so no single party sees both ends. See Private network.

How is it different from Tor?

Both use multi-hop, layered encryption. MYTHASE adds rotation at the infrastructure level: relays and services are short-lived, so the network itself is harder to map. The products also aim at everyday use rather than a dedicated browser.

Can I use it today?

Not yet. The private testnet is closed. A public testnet and the first network client are next. Follow progress on the Roadmap.

Will it be open source?

Privacy software has to be verifiable to be trusted. Client and node code are intended to be open for review before public release.

Does it make me anonymous?

It reduces what networks and services learn about you. It cannot protect you from a compromised device or from information you share yourself. See Limitations.

Can I run a node?

Node software for contributing capacity is planned for the Network era.

How do I report a security issue?

Email hello@mythase.xyz. Please do not publish details until the issue is fixed.
